Elyria Christian takes 2nd at Wakefield

WAKEFIELD — There was just one blemish on the record Saturday for the Elyria Christian School volleyball team as it went 4-1 to take second place in the Wakefield Invitational.

Results:

• A 25-13, 25-9 rout of St. Xavier. Kourtney Brumley had a whopping 8 aces and Bailey Unruh led in kills with 5.

• A hard-earned 25-14, 19-25, 27-25 squeaker over Wakefield. Christin Vetter registered 10 kills and Katelyn Huddle contributed 19 assists.

• A 25-21, 25-23 victory over Peabody. Vetter’s 11 kills was the top stat.

• A three-set loss to Bennington, 26-24, 27-29, 21-25. Anderson had 9 digs and Unruh had a fine all-around match with 8 kills and 6 digs.

• A 25-17, 25-12 success against Blue Valley-Randolph. Anderson hustled to 12 digs and Unruh led in kills with 7.
