BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — McPherson College’s volleyball team knocked off another upper-division KCAC team on Wednesday when it went on the road to sweep Oklahoma Wesleyan, 3-0.

Mac squeaked out a 29-27 victory in set 1 and then went on for 25-22, 25-19 victories to improve to 5-3 in the KCAC and 9-5 overall.

Oklahoma Wesleyan had entered the night among the KCAC leaders with a 6-1 conference mark, so it was a huge win for the Bulldogs.

“(It was a) solid sweep for us against a team that we’re evenly matched up with statistically," Mac coach Jessica Cleveland. “(Lexi) Kite led the way with a double-double. (Bree) Wallace chipped in with a great game on both sides of the ball and (Mady) Woog had a lot of game-changing blocks for us."

With 16 kills on the night, Kite surpassed the 800-kill mark for her career. Wallace added 9.

Woog and Wallace were tops in blocks with 5 apiece. Morgan Little (22) and Kaitlyn Heines (13) were again the assist leaders, Jamie Siess led in digs with 12, with Kite furnishing 10 for another double-double.

The Bulldogs are right back in action on Friday when they stay on the road to take on Bethel College in North Newton. The Threshers are just 1-7 in the conference.
