MHS spikers to journey to Ulysses for sub-state

McPherson High’s volleyball team will be loading up the bus and trekking halfway across the state for its sub-state tournament on Oct. 21.

MHS heads to Ulysses for the tournament. As has been the case so many times the past few years, Buhler and Hays round out the field.

In other assignments announced today by KSHSAA, Smoky Valley goes to Clay Center for a 4A Division II tournament that also includes Concordia and Nickerson.

Hesston will be a host site in Class 3A. Other schools are Eureka, Halstead, Haven, Trinity Catholic, Sedgwick, Remington and Wichita Independent.

In Class 2A, Moundridge and Inman are in the same sub-state, which is hosted by Udall. Other schools are Central Burden, Dexter/Cedar Vale, Berean, Bluestem and Oxford.

Canton-Galva goes to the 2A Marion sub-state. Northern Heights, Goessel, Herington, Hillsboro, Olpe and Wabaunsee are the other teams.

Elyria Christian heads to Otis-Bison to join Chase, Central Christian, Pawnee Heights and Stafford in Class 1A.

Little River, in Class 1A, goes to Sylvan Grove along with Downs, Osborne, Stockton and Victoria.
