ELBING — Canton-Galva had runners in various divisions of the Berean Academy Invitational Cross Country Meet on Thursday.

In the Middle School race, Morgan Becker won for the fourth time in five meets, while Sage Toews was second in her division.

“Morgan Becker notched another victory today, but had to hold off some tough competition at the end,” C-G coach Lyle Silsby said. “Sage Toews was able to battle up to second place and she has also now earned a medal in each of her five races this season.”

The Eagles ran as individuals in all the divisions.

“Chase Klinkerman keeps improving each week and almost set a life personal best today, only missing it by 17 seconds,” Silsby said. “Leah Silsby ran her best race of the year and her first race running varsity as a freshman. She finally has gotten healthy again, so hopefully she can continue a quick improvement up to regionals. Sarah Kendall set a new personal best time by almost three minutes.  It's great to see her gain confidence and learn how to push herself.”
