For the second year in a row, Central Christian College men's wrestling coach Tom Carr has been selected by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association (KWCA) to present at its annual convention.
The convention takes place this weekend at the Salina Ambassador Hotel and Conference Center in Salina.
Last year Carr presented on the topic of physical preparation, this year the title of his presentation is "The Path to College Wrestling.”
The presentation will focus on preparing student-athletes academically and athletically to compete at the collegiate level. From the academic side he will cover initial eligibility requirements for both the NCAA as well as the NAIA.
"In a state like Kansas with a well-run coach's association and many talented high school prospects it is a pleasure to get to meet the coaches who are producing excellence and I hope through my presentation I can give some insight and help student athletes think about wrestling beyond just high school,” Carr said.
Carr is currently in his second season as the head coach of the Tiger wrestling program. Last season, the program qualified its first-ever participant in the NAIA national tournament, freshman Devontae Fitzgerald.
