Smoky Valley School District Superintendent Glen Suppes has been named one of three finalists for Superintendent of the Year in the state of Kansas. Suppes is one of three finalists, along with John Allison of Olathe USD 233 and Justin Henry of Goddard USD 265.

Suppes has been Smoky Valley’s superintendent since 2000 after spending 14 years as a principal at Hillsboro High School, Kinsley High School and Healey High School.  Suppes was also integral in integrating the district with Apple products in 2004, and now every student in the district, even down to the elementary school level, has a MacBook Air.

Over the next two weeks, Suppes, as well as the other finalists, will be interviewed by a committee of former superintendents, with the winner being announced on Oct. 23.
