Aqua Pups fare well in Manhattan

MANHATTAN — McPherson’s Aqua Pups competed in the Manhattan Monster Splash Swimming Meet over the weekend.

McPherson coach Kyle Banman commended his team for some quality performances. Here are his highlights in his words:

• Britton Becker (10) made his Aqua Pups competition debut, featuring a top finish of 4th on the 100 Free.

•Ethan Burger (14) earned the short course District time on 100 Breast and a 5th-place finish.

•Matthew Burger (8) cut double digits on both 100 Free (27.9 off) and 50 Free (13.86 off).

•Rachel Fischer (8) dropped on all four of her events and earned her second District qualifier with her 100 Breaststroke swim. She also took 3rd on both 25 free and 25 fly.

•Cara Hubenett (13) cut time on all three of her races with 9.5 drop on 100 Breast and 7.52 on 100 Free.

•Jordyn and Zoe Jester (both 7) swam just their second meet ever this weekend. Jordyn dropped 5.4 on her 25 Back.

•Claire Schmidt (10) improved both her 100 Back and 50 Breast District times.

•Roary Whorton (11) had a top finish of third on the 200 Free.

•Zoey Whorton (13) took second on the 200 Free and swam the 200 Breast for the first time.
