Eight McPherson College softball players are among the record 7,365 players across seven membership divisions to earn National Fast-pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2016-17 academic year.

Current sophomores Jordynn Corea, Jessica Jones, Jessica Knoeber and Kylee Martin join juniors Brittany Childs and Chelsea Conrad, senior Valerie Romero and recent graduate and current assistant coach Katie Holmes in receiving recognition after achieving a 3.5 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale for the 2016-17 academic year.

Oklahoma Wesleyan University was the only other KCAC school with honorees, placing 13 among the 559 total recipients representing NAIA schools.

The eight players will be recognized between the first and second quarters at Saturday's football game between McPherson and Ottawa University.
