ROME, Ga. — The McPherson College doubles tandem of Ahmed Lahlou and Hector Carrillo Perales dropped their opening-round match Thursday afternoon in the NAIA men's doubles draw at the ITA Oracle Cup being held at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College.

Lahlou and Carrillo, who were unseeded, fell to the No. 2-seeded team of Kevin Konfederak and Gilad Berman of defending NAIA national champion Georgia Gwinnett College, 6-0, 6-0. Konfederak and Berman are GGC's top doubles team, but were upset by teammates in the final of their ITA regional and reached the Oracle Cup courtesy of a wild-card berth.

The Bulldog pair will continue play today in the back draw, facing Luke Whalen and John Joens of Westmont (Calif.) at 1:30 p.m. EDT. The winner of that match advances to the fifth-place match, while the loser falls into the seventh-place match. Both placing matches are slated for Saturday.
