Mid-America Christian University blew into town on Saturday to take on Central Christian College’s men’s soccer team and blew out of town with a 5-0 win.

The start of the game was pushed back 2 hours because of weather. Once it started, the Tigers never did as they were left in the starting blocks.

“The beginning of this game was my fault because I did not properly prepare the players accurately,” CCC coach Aaron Hoxie said. “Don't get me wrong, MACU is incredibly talented, and they've got nice players all over the place, but my assessment of them was too strong and my setup was wrong. I need to get much better with my pre-game. Despite the wrong setup, we still were creative with the ball, even outshooting them. However, we were lazy defensively in key positions and it cost us. Three goals on three shots. Silly really."

After Mid-America scored three first-half goals, it added two in the second half.

Central fell to 1-3-1 in the SAC, 8-4-1 overall. The Tigers are on the road Thursday to take on Bacone College.

• WOMEN’S GAME HALTED — The women’s game went a half before lightning in the area put a halt to the proceedings.

No word on when the game will be resumed. There must be 70 minutes of a game for it to be official.
