McPherson College had numerous outstanding performances in its 44-30 homecoming football victory over Ottawa on Saturday and KCAC voters took notice.

The Bulldogs swept the conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors announced late Monday as Jake Tiernan was named on the offensive side and Charles Tisby on the defensive side.

Tiernan, who played 8-man football at Solomon and was starting his first-ever game, was a highly efficient 14 of 19 for 215 yards and three TD passes. Two of them went to Jackson Goodmiller and the other to Desmond Anderson.

Tisby was a wrecking ball on defense. He tied for the team high in tackles with 10, had three sacks and four tackles behind the line of scrimmage for a minus-37 yards. He also had a fumble recovery and anchored a defense that allowed just 31 yards rushing on 40 attempts.
