BPU General Manager Tim Maier wanted to remind the city of McPherson about the Operation Warmth program. Operation Warmth is a program aimed to help those that have a hard time paying their bills, and their utility bills specifically.

“The committee looks at applicants and gives priority to single parents with young children, elderly, disabled, low income or people that are going through a specific hardship and need some help to get through it,” Maier said.

People can make direct donations to Operation Warmth, or they can round up to the next dollar on their utility bill every month.

“We encourage people that have an interest in that type of program to sign up and they can call our office at 245-1515 and we’d be happy to set you up,” Maier said.
