There’s always a little something special for McPherson College volleyball coach Jessica Cleveland when her team plays Friends.

Cleveland played for the Falcons during her collegiate days, so imagine her satisfaction on Wednesday at the Sport Center when the Bulldogs swept the Falcons for the second time this year, 3-0.

“Another season sweep of Friends University in three," Cleveland said. “A win is extra sweet when you beat your alma mater. We hope to carry this momentum for our three matches this weekend."

The Bulldogs were tremendously efficient. They had only 12 errors on 105 attacks, which led to 25-16, 25-23, 25-14 victories.

Mac is now 13-6 in the KCAC and 17-8 overall as it continues to play upper-level volleyball in the KCAC.

Lexi Kite had a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Riley Bradbury added 10 kills, while Rianne Richard led in digs with 12. The tag-team of Kaitlyn Heinis and Morgan Little furnished 18 assists apiece.

The Bulldogs have a tough match coming up on Friday when they host Oklahoma Wesleyan, which is 15-4 in the KCAC and 19-8 overall. Mac upset the Eagles last month in Bartlesville.

If the Bulldogs win, they would set a school record for the number of KCAC wins in a season.

The Bulldogs then play a triangular on Saturday at Central Christian College, with John Brown University the other team.
