Highly touted Oklahoma City University spoiled Senior Day for 13 Central Christian College Tiger graduates-to-be here Tuesday with a 2-1 soccer victory.

Matias Nunez scored the only Central goal, which tied the game at 1-all with 17 minutes left to play as the Tigers were seeking a monster upset of the conference’s third-best team.

But OCU scored the game-winner with 2 minutes remaining to hand the Tigers a heart-breaking loss.

“Man, what a tough result for the guys tonight,” Central coach Aaron Hoxie said. “Soccer is a cruel game and we definitely didn't deserve to lose tonight. I thought that the best team lost tonight. At least for one night, we were better. We played great. We did everything right. The players gave it their all and unfortunately didn't get the favorable result. That being said, their goal keeper was the difference in the match. His saves kept the game for them and he was unbelievable tonight."

The Tigers finished 3-6-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, but qualified for the postseason tournament. They are on the road to play top-seed Wayland Baptist Thursday afternoon.

The Tigers are 10-7-1 overall.

• OKLAHOMA CITY WOMEN 3, CENTRAL 0 — The Tigers are now 4-13 overall and 1-8 in the SAC.

Goldie Bougher had 5 saves in goal for Central. The Tigers are completing a game with Mid-America Christian today that was suspended Oct. 14 after a half due to lightning.
