LINDSBORG — The Bethany College men’s basketball home opener didn’t go as planned on Tuesday.

Despite 30 points by All-KCAC preseason pick Tyler Larkin, the Swedes lost an 83-68 verdict to Avila to fall to 1-2 on the year.

Bethany led by as many as 9 points early, but the Eagles roared back to lead by 5 at the break.

Avila continued to add to the lead in the second half.

Bethany is home Thursday to host Baptist Bible College.
