HUTCHINSON — Maybe in the long run, McPherson College’s pool-play volleyball loss to Ottawa on Friday may be a blessing in disguise.
The Bulldogs wound up 2-1 over two days in their pool in the KCAC Postseason Tournament and will play Tabor at 1:00 today in the semifinals at the fabled Sports Arena. Tabor won its pool, but is 0-2 against Mac this year.
Ottawa and Kansas Wesleyan, both of whom are perfect against the Bulldogs this year, meet in the other semi at 11:00, with the finals set for 6:00.
The Bulldogs, 22-11, won the first set against Ottawa 26-24, but it was all OU after that as it recorded 25-19, 25-23, 25-17 wins.
Mac takes a 22-11 record into today’s play. The 22 wins are a school record, eclipsing last year’s mark of 21.
Lexi Kite had 15 kills to lead the Mac offense. Morgan Little led in assists with 25 and Jamie Siess was all over the court with 37 digs, while Kite had 24.
