McPherson County Crime Stoppers, Inc. helps make area safer

Since its inception in 1986, the McPherson County Crime Stoppers have been taking anonymous calls and tips in an effort to rid the county of crime and help solve issues in the area. In 2016, the McPherson County Crime Stoppers received 53 calls, which assisted in clearing several crimes such as illegal drugs, thefts, recovery of stolen property and the arrest of fugitives, with rewards paid to the callers that helped provide information.

Since being created in 1986, the McPherson County Crime Stoppers have accounted for $374,668 in property recovered, drugs seized or in expected court-ordered restitution. They’ve also caused nearly 400 people to face criminal charges, and they’ve received more than 1,500 tips concerning crimes in McPherson County, such as theft or burglary, drug activity, vandalism, arson and wanted persons.

The Crime Stoppers continue to use Facebook as a way to inform the public, and post the Crimes of the Week. They will also receive tips by calling at 620-241-1122, and text messages by texting MPCS along with the tip to 274367 (CRIMES). You can submit a tip online at fill out the form.
