McPherson High’s football team dominated the AVCTL Division III postseason honors.

MHS’ Wyatt Seidl was named the Offensive Player of the Year for his devastating blocking, Jayse Alexander was the Defensive MVP for his relentless play at linebacker and Jace Pavlovich was the Coach of the Year for leading the Bullpups to the Class 4A Division I semifinals, while many other Bullpups raked in honors as well.

Very seldom is an offensive lineman the league MVP, but Seidl’s powerhouse play was too good to ignore. Joining him on the offensive first team were teammates Kyler Hoppes at quarterback, Jace Kinnamon at running back, Gabe Hoover at receiver and Thomas Diggs at tight end.

Alexander was joined on the defensive first team by his linebacker partner in crime Kollin Goering, Seidl at defensive end and Drew Labertew and Ben Nikkel in the secondary.

Offensive lineman Dawson VanGoethem, receiver Talyn Huff and defensive linemen Michael Mendez were second-team selections.

As far as honorable mention, Brandon Wilde made it on the offensive side as a lineman, while defensively Gunnar Reiss and Tyson Stites were chosen in the secondary and Honestee Whittker was picked as a linebacker. Stites also made the HM list as a special teams player.
