Great meet for McPherson Gymnastics Club

The McPherson Gymnastics Club hosted the 15th annual Fall Fun Invitational on Nov. 11 at the YMCA.

There were 116 competitors from five gyms. There were gyms from Concordia, Colorado, Hutchinson, Inman, Salina and the host Gym Pups. 

This meet was for Levels 1 through Open Optional Division. The girls all participated in both team and individual competition.

The Level 3, 4 and 7 teams all took first, while Level 2 was fourth.

Starting with Level 2, Age 7-8, Averie Church took 2nd place on Beam and Floor, 4th place on Bars, 7th on Vault and placed 4th in the All-Around.

Also in Level 2, Age 7-8, Avah Parkins competed in her first meet and took home 1st place on Floor with a score of 9.3, placed 2nd on Vault, 3rd on Beam, placed 7th on Bars and placed 6th in the All-Around. 

In Level 2, Age 9A, Harper Rierson took home 1st on Bars with a score of 9.7, 2nd place on Vault and Floor, 3rd place on Beam and placed 2nd in the All-Around.

Audrey Weimer competed in Level 2, Age 9B, and placed 3rd on Bars, 4th place on Vault, Beam, and Floor and 3rd in the All-Around.

In Level 2, Age 11, Jayden McWilliams took home 1st on Bars with a score of 9.65, 1st on Beam with a score of 9.35, 2nd on Vault and Floor and took home top honors in the All-Around with a score of 36.4.

In the Level 2, Age 12-13, Amelia Lawrence placed 4th on Vault, 5th on Bars, Beam, and Floor and 5th in the All-Around.

Sarah Bruns also competed at her first meet at Level 2, Age 10-13, and placed 4th on Bars, Beam, and Floor, 5th on Vault and 4th in the All-Around.

Lily Robinson competed in her first meet as Level 3, Age 10, and took home 1st place on Bars with a score of 9.2, 1st on Beam with a score of 9.0, 2nd place on Vault, 3rd place on Floor and 1st place in the All Around.

At Level 3, Age 11, Dolly Rodriquez took 1st place on Beam, 3rd place on Floor, 4th place on Vault, 6th place on Bars and 2nd place in the All-Around. 

Kiara Heizelman also competed at Level 3, Age 11, and she placed 2nd on Vault, 4th on Floor, and 5th on Bars and Beam and 4th place in the All-Around. 

At Level 3, Age 12, Stella Robinson competed in her first meet and took home top honors on Bars with a score of 9.05 and on Beam with a score of 9.5, 3rd place on Floor, 4th place on Vault and 1st place in the All-Around. Brooke Stephan competed in her first meet and placed 1st on Floor with a score of 9.3, 2nd on Vault, Bars, and Beam and placed 2nd in the All-Around.

In Level 4, Age 10, Makyna Munoz placed 1st on Vault with a score of 9.1, 1st on Bars with a score of 8.9, and 1st on Floor with a score of 9.3, placed 2nd on Beam and placed 1st in the All-Around.

Aislyn Soukup competed in Level 4, Age 12, and placed 1st on Floor with a score of 9.35, 2nd place on Vault, Bars, and Beam and placed 2nd in the All-Around. 

In Level 4, Age 14, Alex Henry placed 1st on Bars with a score of 6.4, 1st on Beam with a score of 7.9, and 1st on Floor with a score of 8.2, 2nd on Vault, and 1st in the All-Around. Abbey Paulson also competed in Level 4, Age 14, and took home 1st on Vault, placed 2nd on Bars, Beam, and Floor and placed 2nd in the All-Around.

Allanah Austin competed in Level Platinum, Age 14-15, and placed 2nd on Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor and 2nd in the All Around.

Hannah McGowan competed in Level Platinum, Age 17 & Up, and took home 1st on Bars, placed 2nd on Vault, Beam, and Floor and 2nd in the All Around.

In Level 7, Age 10-12, Andi Buschbom placed 2nd on Vault, Bars, Beam, 3rd on Floor, and 2nd in the All-Around. Haely Hagemann also competed and took home 1st place on Floor with a score of 9.55, 3rd on Vault, Bars, and Beam and placed 3rd in the All-Around.

In Level 7, Age 13-15, Larissa Queen place 1st on Vault with a score of 9.3, 1st on Beam with a score of 8.15, 1st on Floor with a score of 9.3, 2nd place on Bars, and placed 1st in the All-Around. Amber Smith also competed in Level 7, Age 13-15, and took home 1st place on Bars with a score of 7.8, placed 2nd on Vault, Beam, Floor and placed 2nd in the All-Around.

Hannah Wuertz competed in Level Open Optional, Age 16 ,and took home top honors on Vault with a score of 8.55, 1st on Bars with a score of 8.1, 1st on Beam with a score of 8.3, 1st on Floor with a score of 9.4 and 1st in the All-Around.

The girls will start their regular AAU season in January and will compete until May.  There are 24 girls on the competitive team ranging from Level 2 through 9.  They will attend meets in Great Bend, Hutchinson, Pratt, Salina, Wamego and Wichita.
