Tiger women lose exhibition game

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Central Christian College’s women’s basketball team returned to action on Monday with an exhibition game against Oklahoma Baptist, an NCAA Division II school.

OBU unleashed a 63-point salvo in the first half and went on for a 109-68 victory. It scored 33 points in the first quarter and 30 in the second.

Havanna Yannello topped Central with 14 points, one of four Tigers in double figures. Holly Golden scored 12, Abbie Banks added 11 and Chloe Mefford tallied 10.

All 12 Bison players scored, led by Tasha Edge with 19 points and she also pulled down 13 rebounds for a double-double.

The Tigers, 1-5 in games that count, begin Sooner Athletic Conference action on Thursday when they play at Mid-America Christian University.
