Central Christian College’s basketball teams begin their foray into the Sooner Athletic Conference on Thursday by taking on Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City.
The women tip off at 6 p.m. and the men at 8. Central’s last conference affiliation was the now-defunct Midlands College Athletic Conference.
The Tiger women are seeking their second win of the year. They are coming off a 109-68 exhibition loss to Oklahoma Baptist on Monday.
The Mid-America Christian women enter the game with a 4-2 record.
The Central men are off to an impressive 5-1 start and also played Fort Hays State within seven points in an exhibition game.
The Tigers will have their hands full, though, as Mid-America Christian is ranked No. 22 in the country and is 5-2 on the season. The teams have a common opponent in Manhattan Christian, with the Evangels winning their game with the Thunder 91-77 while Central was a 91-80 winner.
Central’s teams stay on the road Saturday to play at University of Science and Arts.
