McPherson High dominates All-State football honors

McPherson High’s highly acclaimed football team that advanced to the Class 4A Division I state semifinals carted home a passel of honors this weekend when The Wichita Eagle and Topeka Capital-Journal announced their All-State teams.

Most highly acclaimed was Wyatt Seidl, who was named second-team All-State All-Class by both papers and was Class 4A Division I first team by both for defense, not to mention honorable mention as well for offense by The Eagle.

Jayse Alexander also made 4A D-I first team by both papers for his play at linebacker.

Here are the honors:

• Wyatt Seidl — Second-team All-State All-Class by both papers; 1st team 4A by both papers on defense and was honorable mention offense by The Eagle.

• Jayse Alexander — First-team Class 4A Division I defense by both papers.

• Thomas Diggs — Honorable mention 4A Division I (Wichita)

• Gabe Hoover — Honorable mention 4A Division I (both)

• Talyn Huff — Honorable mention 4A Division I (Wichita)

• Kyler Hoppes — Honorable mention 4A Division I (both)

• Jace Kinnamon — Honorable mention 4A Division I (both)

• Drew Labertew — Honorable mention 4A Division I (both)

• Ben Nikkel — Honorable mention 4A Division I (both)

• Kollin Goering — Honorable mention 4A Division I (both)
