It promises to be a couple of difficult road tests for McPherson College’s basketball teams on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs head to Wichita to take on the Friends Falcons at the Garvey Center, with the women starting at 6:00 and the men at 8.
Friends’ women are just a game out of the KCAC lead as they are 4-1 in conference play and 6-4 overall. The Falcons were the KCAC champion last year and have had to learn what life without All-American Shann Sellers is all about.
The Mac women are 3-2 in the KCAC and 7-3 overall. The Bulldogs are coming off a road loss at Sterling where they were undone by a cold spell in the second quarter where they were outscored 26-10, before coming back with 27 points in the third quarter to make it a close game.
The Mac men, in the throes of an eight-game losing streak, are 0-5 in the KCAC and 1-9 overall. They have to find a way to slow down the KCAC’s top offensive scorer, Jordan Murdock, who has led the Falcons to a 3-2 KCAC mark and 5-5 record overall. Murdock, a 6-4 and 260-pound guard, has bulled his way to 30 points a game and also leads the KCAC in rebounding at 9.6.
Mac returns home on Saturday to take on Ottawa.
