ANDOVER — Andover Central shut down the McPherson seventh-grade girls’ offense in a 47-10 victory on Thursday.

Jordan Sears and Alexis Dukes scored 5 points apiece to account for the MMS scoring.

“The Andover Central team was tall and shot the ball very well,” MMS coach Kaleigh Troxell said. “Our girls played hard tonight and never gave up. We are still learning a lot and striving to improve every day.”

Andover Central also won the B-game, 26-5. Emily Heskett and Braelynn Patterson scored 2 points apiece.

“The girls started rough, but came on strong later on,” MMS coach TJ Jackson said. “We played great defense so often, and made steals, but couldn't finish many east baskets. Again, we are proud of their effort and girls who are willing to learn and work hard. We look forward to seeing more growth from them.”

MMS A (10) — Sears 5, Dukes 5.

MMS B (5) — Heskett 2, Patterson 2, White 1.
