Clean sweep for Jr. Eagle girls

ELYRIA — Elyria Christian Junior High’s A-girls played stifling defense on Thursday, keying a 23-5 victory over Centre.

The Eagles held Centre scoreless in one quarter and allowed just a free throw in another.

Kylie Penner’s 7 points led ECJH.

The Eagles’ B-team led 12-0 after a quarter and strolled to a 38-7 victory. Ryland Hawkinson was on fire with 16 points.

One half of a C-game was played with Elyria winning 9-1. Julia Allen tallied 4 points in the win.

Elyria A (23) — Starburg 2, Clark 5, Hawkinson 3, Aden 6, Penner 7.

Elyria B (38) — Swenson 2, Potter 2, Aroum 8, Peters 2, Stone 6, Price 2, Hawkinson 16.

Elyria C (9) — Reiff 2, Aroum 3, Allen 4.
