Central cagers at home on Saturday

It will be another afternoon doubleheader for Central Christian College’s basketball teams on Saturday.

The Tigers remain home at Alexander Arena to entertain Southwestern Assemblies of God.

The women start play at 3:00, with the men going at 5.

In the men’s game, the Tigers can catch the Lions in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings with a victory. SAGU is 2-3 in SAC games and 8-5 overall, while Central is 1-4 and 7-5. The Tigers are coming off an 81-79 loss to NAIA defending national champion Texas Wesleyan on Thursday. The Lions upset No. 14-ranked Oklahoma City 91-81 on the Stars’ home court in their most recent action.

In the women’s game, Central will be trying to snap a six-game losing streak as it’s 0-5 in the SAC and 1-12 overall. The Lions are 2-3 in the conference and 5-6 overall. They are coming off a 91-49 setback to No. 8-ranked Oklahoma City.
