History was made today for Elyria Christian School.
The Eagles’ boys basketball team climbed to No. 1 in Class 1A Division II, according to the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association rankings.
It’s the first No. 1 ranking in school history.
Meanwhile, it will be No. 2 vs. No. 5 on Tuesday when McPherson High’s boys host Augusta at the Roundhouse.
Miege is still No. 1 in Class 4A Division I, followed by MHS, Ottawa, Wamego and Augusta. Bonner Springs headlines the second five, followed by Labette County, Andover Central, Kansas City Piper and Basehor-Linwood.
The MHS girls remain No. 2, trailing on Miege. Kansas City Piper is No. 3, followed by Labette County and Abilene.
Circle, which lost by 25 points to MHS on Friday, dropped to No. 6. Hays, Andover Central, Spring Hill and Augusta complete the Top 10. When the Bullpups host Augusta on Tuesday, it will be the fifth game for MHS against a ranked team.
Hesston’s boys have climbed to No. 2 in Class 3A, trailing only Cheney.
