McPherson College’s basketball teams have made one long trip this week and Saturday they'll make another.
The Bulldogs, coming off a split with Saint Mary in Leavenworth, head south this time as they travel to Bartlesville, Okla., to take on Oklahoma Wesleyan.
In the 3 p.m. women’s game, the Eagles come in just a game off the KCAC lead as they are 8-3, 14-5 overall. However, one of their losses was to Mac during the first week of conference play.
The Bulldogs are 6-5 in KCAC and coming off only their second road win of the year by surprising Saint Mary. Leavenworth has been a tough place for the Bulldogs to win, but they shot it well on Wednesday and had a whopping rebound advantage.
The Mac men are 1-10 in the KCAC, 4-15 overall. They play an Eagle team that is 6-5 in the KCAC and 12-6 overall and regarded by many as the most athletic team in the conference.
Both Mac teams will be home twice next week, starting with Wednesday’s game against county rival Bethany. They also host Tabor on Saturday.
