Krause to speak at American Legion

American Legion Post #24 will once again host a dinner and speaker on Saturday, January 27th which will be open to the public.  McPherson native Jonah Krause will talk about his 5 tours of duty in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.  Krause retired as a Major from the US Army and now lives in Des Moines, Iowa with his wife and children.  He is the author of a bookRogue 36: Brotherhood, Sacrifice, & Warthat outlines the story of his first tour to Iraq with the 731stSecurity Force.  Krause is the recipient of 3 Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart (combat wounded), 2 Joint Service Commendation Medals, the Combat Action Badge, and 6 Army Commendation Medals among other achievements.  Krause will have books available and will sign them for guests.  Krause graduated from McPherson High School and holds a Bachelors Degree in Business and a Masters Degree in Intelligence Analysis.

Social will begin at 5:00 pm, dinner at 6:00 pm, and speaker at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are id="mce_marker"0 each and available in the Post Lounge, Jim LaDuke’s State Farm Office, and from various Post members.  The American Legion Riders will prepare and serve an Italian dinner of Chicken Alfredo & Fettuccine, Chicken Marsala & Penne, Garlic Bread, salad and Dessert.  Veterans from Desert Storm to the present can get a free ticket by calling Jim LaDuke at 620-241-8600.
