Elyria Christian School’s boys basketball team stayed on top this week in Class 1A Division II, according to rankings Monday afternoon by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.

The Eagles won two games this past week, including a solid victory over ranked Rural Vista.

McPherson High’s teams continue to trail Bishop Miege in Class 4A Division I.

The Miege boys and MHS are 1-2, followed by Wamego, Bonner Springs and Ottawa. Rounding out the Top 10 are Labette County, Augusta, Andover Central, Kansas City Piper and Basehor-Linwood.

After the Miege girls and MHS, Kansas City Piper is No. 3, with Labette County and Circle completing the Top 5. Hays is No. 6, with Andover Central, Abilene, Kansas City Sumner and Augusta rounding out the Top 10.

The Hesston boys fell to No. 4 this week in Class 3A behind Cheney, Halstead and Nemaha Central, while the Swather girls are not ranked.

A ranking of note, the Lawrence Free State boys are No. 1 in Class 6A and Derby is No. 7. Those two schools could very well meet in Friday’s semifinals of the McPherson Invitational.
