STERLING — Southeast of Saline and Smoky Valley’s boys were tied through three quarters on Tuesday in the Sterling Invitational, but the Trojans pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 55-51 victory.

Not much separated the teams as it was 23-all at the half and 37-all through three quarters.

Free throwing was the difference as the Vikes made just 8 of 16 while Southeast was 12 of 19.

Ben Weldy topped Smoky Valley with 16 points and Nick Reinert chipped in with 12.

Smoky Valley is in the consolation bracket today, playing at 4:00 against Lyons.
