Central Christian College’s men probably won’t win the Sooner Athletic Conference, but they’re a basketball team nobody wants to play and will have a say in who does.
The Tigers will attempt to follow up their road upset of No. 21-ranked Oklahoma City on Tuesday with a home victory on Thursday against Panhandle State at Alexander Arena.
Game time is 8 p.m., with the women kicking things off at 6.
On paper, the men’s game is even-steven. Panhandle has the exact same records as CCC of 3-5 in the SAC and 9-6 overall. While the Tigers have won their last two games, the Aggies have lost their last two. They do own a win over defending national champion Texas Wesleyan (90-81), but were routed 94-74 by Wayland Baptist in their most recent game.
In the women’s game, Central is still looking for its first SAC win as it’s 0-8, 1-15 overall. Panhandle is just 2-6 in the SAC, but is 7-0 in non-conference play for a 9-6 overall record.
Central’s teams are home again on Saturday to take on Wayland Baptist.
