SALINA — With two huge swimming meets coming up today and Saturday, McPherson High took only a partial JV team to Salina on Wednesday for a makeup varsity meet.

“There were actually two meets in one,” MHS coach Matt Morrow said. “Everyone swam against Salina South in one meet and Salina Central in the other. Just to make it more confusing, our JV boys were swimming against the other team's varsity. This was a first for us as we've never taken a JV squad to a meet and I think these six swimmers did a great job. We had a lot of best times and our relays swam well.  Zach LeBlanc had a great 100 butterfly, shaving off a couple of seconds and placing 4/5th.  Cody Achilles took over 15 seconds off his PR in the 500 free and place 4/7th.”

MHS was sixth in the team standings.

The Bullpup varsity is at Lawrence today, then goes to Wichita Heights on Saturday. MHS has not lost a varsity meet this year.
