McPherson’s seventh-grade girls were missing four players on Thursday, which greatly led to 38-14 setback to Derby.

“The girls played hard tonight despite adversity,” MMS coach Kaleigh Huxman said. “We have four girls who are either out of town or injured, so everyone had to step into a different role. I thought we really rose to the occasion and I am proud of the effort the girls gave.”

Alexis Dukes topped MMS with 6 points.

There was no B-game.
