LR makes Burrton finals; Inman to play for 5th

BURRTON — Little River’s boys will play undefeated Berean Academy on Saturday for the championship of the Burrton Invitational.

The Redskins overwhelmed Burrton in the first quarter on Thursday for a 28-8 lead and roared into the finals with a 73-49 victory.

Freshman Jayden Garrison was electrifying with 28 points, making 7 of 9 shots from beyond the arc. Brother Jace wasn’t far behind as he lit it up for 22 points.

The title game is set for 7:30.

• Inman boys 54, Fairfield 38 — The Teutons will play for fifth place at Burrton as they used the 1-2 punch of Payton Froese and Mason Thiessen to topple Fairfield.

Froese poured in 28 points and Thiessen furnished 17 as they combined for most of the Inman offense.

Inman plays Pretty Prairie at 4:30 Saturday.
