ELYRIA — Elyria Christian Junior High’s A-boys captured a 37-29 victory over Burrton in Monday’s basketball action.

“I was hoping to come out stronger to grab an early lead, but Burrton did a good job of getting good shots off that we had trouble defending,” ECJH coach Shawn Stucky said. “In the second half we finally started to settle into our offense and pick up our defense to be able to come away with the win.”

Ben Unruh had a monster game with 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Eagles.

The B-team also was a winner, 26-20. Johnathan Dossett topped the Eagles with 6 points. Burrton was down 18-5 after three quarters before making a charge that came up short.

Elyria A (37)— J. Unruh 3, B. Unruh 16, Allen 4, Wiggers 8, Clark 4, Huddle 2.

Elyria B (26) — J. Unruh 2, Dossett 6, Burrill 4, Fields 4, Wiggers 4, Clark 2, Huddle 4.
