Mac's Bachura, BC's Ahaneku honored

Aaron Bachura’s monster week did not go unnoticed.

The McPherson College 6-2 senior guard was named KCAC Offensive Player of the Week today as the Bulldogs went 1-1, including a stunning upset of Tabor on Saturday.

Bachura scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 109-100 overtime loss to Tabor on Wednesday, then scored 29 points in the 87-80 win over Tabor, making 7 3-pointers.

For the week, he was 17 of 33 from the field, 12 of 25 from 3-point. He also was 13 of 15 from the foul line in the two games.

On the women’s side, Bethany’s Sydney Ahaneku was named the Defensive Player of the Week for her performances in two Swede wins.

Ahaneku had 11 rebounds and 2 blocks in a win over McPherson College on Wednesday, then had 12 rebounds and 3 blocks in Bethany’s win over Kansas Wesleyan.
