MMS wrestlers split in debut

GODDARD — McPherson Middle School’s wrestling team finally opened its season on Tuesday, defeating Andover Central 54-43 but losing to Goddard Eisenhower, 62-37.

“We started off both duals down by 30 points due to open weight classes, but outwrestled both teams. Very impressive display of toughness and team unity,” MMS coach Kaden Kretzer said.

The team goes to Valley Center for an invitational on Saturday.
