McPherson’s seventh-grade girls gave Valley Center all it wanted before falling 35-31 here Thursday.

Alexis Dukes had a strong game for the Bullpups with 15 points.

The B-team lost 39-6 with Aimee LeBlanc scoring 4 of the points.

“Tonight was a true team effort and I could not be more proud of the way my girls played,” Bullpup coach Kaleigh Huxman said. “In both games they played extremely hard, passed the ball well to one another and hustled on defense. In the A-game we finished the ball well in transition and were aggressive to the basket. It has been fun to see the girls grow individually and as a team team this year and we are excited for one more week of games before the tournament.”

MMS A (31) — Dukes 15, Buschbom 6, Sears 6, Lang 2, Simmons 2.

MMS B (6) — LeBlanc 4, Heskett 2.
