AUGUSTA — McPherson High wrestling coach Doug Kretzer was concerned that Thursday’s dual with Augusta might go down to the wire and that bonus points might swing the outcome.

But the Bullpups alleviated his fears by routing the Orioles 52-24 as they are now 3-0 in AVCTL Division III matches and 12-1 overall.

MHS was extremely aggressive, winning nearly half of the matches by falls. Augusta won the last two matches by falls that helped the score cosmetically. Scott Radke moved up from 152 to 160, but it didn’t matter as he won by a fall.
