McPherson College’s basketball teams are back home on Saturday to take on Sterling College.
The women start at 5 p.m. at the Sport Center, with the men to follow at 7.
The Mac women have a tall order as Sterling comes in 11-4 in the conference, alone in second place. The Warriors are 14-8 overall.
The Bulldogs are 7-8 in the KCAC and 11-11 overall, but 9-2 at home. However, they are coming off a horrible lopsided loss to Southwestern, which had entered the game just 4-18.
In the men’s game, the Bulldogs are just 2-13 in the KCAC, but in their last two games they have knocked off Tabor and taken No. 6 ranked Southwestern into triple overtime before losing 115-109. Mac, 5-17 overall, has been playing everybody tough in recent games despite the fact its roster has been decimated by injuries and attrition.
Sterling, just 1-8 at one point, has won four of its last six KCAC games to move to 5-10 in the conference. The Warriors are 7-15 overall.
After Saturday’s games, there just three weeks left in the regular season.
