Central Christian College’s baseball season got under way on Friday with a doubleheader loss to Kansas Wesleyan at Tiger Stadium.

KW pounded out a 13-0 victory in the first game as the Tigers were held to two hits, one apiece by Shomari Cann and Brian Marroquin.

KW led 4-0 after four innings and then opened things up with five runs in the fifth.

The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the first frame of the second game, but KW scored six times in the second and that was the eventual difference in a 9-3 Coyote win.

Troy Carrigan hit the first CCC homer of the year and drove in all  three runs. Cann was 2 for 3.

The teams play again Saturday, but this time time in Salina. First pitch is noon.
