A 42-31 win over Maize here Monday improved the McPherson eighth-grade boys to 9-3 on the season.
Seth Madron poured in 21 points to lead the Bullpups and was augmented by Jayden Dukes, who had 11.
The B-team was a 32-24 winner as Anthony Brooks scored 8 points, one more than Gavin Jones.
“It was nice to end our last home game with two "Ws” for our A- and B-team,” MMS coach Tyler Brown said. “I felt Jayden Dukes had one of his best games tonight. He shot the ball well, but more importantly I felt like he stepped up his defense tonight. Seth as always gave us our big push when Maize cut into our lead at times. Although we have had to change a few players roles down the end of the season, we are starting to adjust to the change and how teams are playing us lately. Hopefully this will pay dividends with the league tournament at the end of the year. The entire B-team came to play tonight. We suit 15 boys and all 15 boys contributed tonight.”
