A propane tank explosion in north McPherson sparked a fire on Tuesday afternoon. The explosion happened around 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Evergreen Storage at North Main Street and 81 bypass. Several RVs were reported to be a part of the fire.

Firefighters were on the scene for about two hours and blocked off North Main Street for a stretch just north of the Eisenhower Elementary School parking lot. Firefighters were able to pump water to the fire from the hydrants inside the Park Ridge Apartments directly south of the explosion.
