McPherson College’s men’s basketball team will try to carry over the momentum of Wednesday’s upset of Friends when it plays Saturday afternoon at Ottawa.

The women’s game tips off the action at 3:00, with the men to follow at 5:00.

The Mac men are now 4-13 in the KCAC and 7-18 overall, having won six of their last 11 games overall.

Ottawa is holding the eighth and final spot in the KCAC playoffs, three games clear of Bethel and Sterling, and four games up on Mac. Bethany is in last and all but out of the picture.

In the first meeting, Ottawa outlasted Mac 94-86 in a game that was close much of the way.

The Mac women need to a win to move closer to clinching a playoff spot. The Bulldogs are 8-9 in the KCAC and 12-12 overall. Ottawa is 5-12 and close to extinction in the playoff race and 7-16 overall.

The Bulldogs won the first matchup 61-51 at the Sport Center. They are now just two games up on Southwestern, which has put together a three-game winning streak.

After Saturday, there are just 2 weeks left in the regular season.
