BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Central Christian College’s baseball team played nationally ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan close in both games on Thursday, with one big inning deciding the opener.

In Game 1, Central had a 1-0 lead until the fourth inning when the No. 5-ranked Eagles scored eight runs to key a 9-2 win. Troy Carrigan’s double was CCC’s only extra-base hit as it was held to four in the game. Bryan Scott went the distance as the fourth inning was his only hiccup.

Game 2 was a great pitching duel, with Landon Stevens gong six innings for CCC and allowing only three hits and two runs. But Central could manage only one run, that on a homer by Carrigan, who also doubled.

Central is now 1-9 on the year and plays two more games today against the Eagles.
