After 20 years in McPherson, Perkins Family Restaurant and Bakery will be closing on Sunday, Feb. 25.

Perkins had been in its current building, 2111 E. Kansas Avenue, for 20 years and by the beginning of March they will have to be completely out of the building. The restaurant learned at the end of January that it lost its lease.

Perkins and its ownership would like to stay in McPherson, but with no available buildings that match what they need, it could be a while before they find the right place to move into.

Perkins has been a staple in McPherson for two decades, and it’s one of the few family restaurants left in town. Perkins was also a big supporter of McPherson High School sports, and was a sports booster at KBBE/KNGL.

Perkins was also the title sponsor of our Coaches Show on Saturday mornings during the fall and winter sports seasons. KBBE/KNGL thanks Perkins for its continued support, and hopes to continue that partnership in the future when the restaurant finds a new home.
