LINDSBORG — It was a pair of overwhelming performances on Tuesday for the Smoky Valley baseball team as the Vikings improved to 6-8 on the season with a sweep of Lyons.

In Game  1, the Vikes were a 13-3 winner, spurred by seven runs in the second inning and five in the fourth.

Bruster Bengtson pitched a two-hitter to pick up the win. Zach Able, Ben Weldy and Brandon Malm were all 3 for 4 and Weldy had a double for the extra-base hit.

The Vikings needed only two-at bats to win Game 2, 16-0. They scored nine runs in the first inning and seven in the second.

Brett Heitschmidt took care of business on the mound by no-hitting the Lions over the three innings. He helped his own cause with two triples, while Malm had two doubles. Able also contributed a double and every starter had at least one hit as the Vikings totaled 16 in all.

The Vikings head to Larned on Thursday.
