The 39thAnnual Mowbray Metric Cycling Weekend will be held on July 21 and 22 with two days of cycling over the weekend.

The event is broken up into three different rides and two of them on Saturday morning. One leaves from Riverside Park in Lindsborg at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and is a 50-mile gravel ride out in the wild and will end up at Coronado Heights with lunch to follow.

“I went out and drove the route the other day and it’s a challenge,” Ronn Peters said. “We’re praying for rain on Friday night so it will be good and muddy.”

The other ride on Saturday morning leaves from McPherson to the Inman Senior Center, where lunch will be provided. This will be a free ride

Mowbray Metric is Sunday, July 22. There are 20, 40 and 62-mile routes that start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. A full lunch will be provided at the air conditioned McPherson Senior Center.

Each ride is $30 but the price is $55 when you combine the two rides, which includes a shirt.

“Next year we’ll be celebrating 40 (years) and looking forward to an even bigger adventure next year,” Peters said. “But this one promises to be pretty good.”
