LARNED — It was a sweep for Smoky Valley’s volleyball team on Tuesday as the Vikings made the long trip to Larned worthwhile with victories over Larned and Haven.
The Vikings needed only two sets to dispatch with Larned (25-15, 25-20) and then overcame a first-set loss to Haven (22-25) to rally for 25-21, 25-17 victories.
McKinley Jonson and Bri Franklin had the hot serving hands with 4 aces apiece, while Johnson also led the team in assists. Abby Rose was tops in kills with 15 and Franklin was dominating at the net with 12 blocks.
“It was great picking up these two wins tonight since they are league teams,” Smoky Valley coach Sharlene Ramsey said. “I'm so proud of the girls and how they battled through the momentum shifts and came out on top.”
